With the holidays in full swing, you probably have gifts on your mind. Have you considered giving the gift of art? Art truly is the gift that keeps on giving, and can enrich the life of the recipient for years to come. Art not only lasts a lifetime, but is filled with sentiment that few other gifts can compete with. It is also a gift that has value – value that can grow over the years.
There are a few rules to keep in mind when gifting artwork. You should keep in mind that the artwork you choose is to the person’s taste. This requires that you know the person well enough that you can make an informed selection. Perhaps they already have a favorite artist, style, or subject matter. Perhaps there is a work of art in which the subject matter or style has a deeper, underlying meaning between the giver and receiver.Michael Wisner “Black Platinum Spoke” Handmade Clay, 5 in x 15 in
If unsure of what work of art they would like, another option is to bring the recipient to the gallery with you, and let them choose the perfect one.
If you don’t see that perfect piece right away, don’t be afraid to ask. The gallery has many more works available that are not currently on display, and would be more than happy to show them to you.
