The Best Part of the Job – New Art

It’s true, the best part of being in a gallery is the art. And the best part of that, is new art. When an artist brings in or ships a new work to the gallery, it is a kind of Christmas in July thing. You open it up, and there it is – a new life. Well maybe I exaggerate a little, but it is a great moment. Today was one of those days.
Eva Cellini, a spry 86 year old, sent us her latest work. She doesn’t paint very fast, so it is always great to see a new painting from her. But this one was a great surprise – a haunting jewel. It is called “Dark Forest.” the title is fitting. It is a story, but you don’t know what it’s about. I’m not going to spoil it and give you my interpretation, go ahead and write what it means to you.
