Dinah Worman and Heather Foster explore the landscapes of the West through a representational yet imaginative eye, as they capture cattle, water, mountains and canyons of Colorado and New Mexico.

A solo exhibition showcasing the moody palettes and loose brushstrokes of Gardner as he races to capture disappearing realities and values of the Old West, so they may not be forgotten. Gardner’s latest series examines the stereotypes and misunderstandings of ranchers of the American West, working to show them in their element, as lone, anonymous figures as he experiences them in the modern day. “Cowboys are one with the land and the outdoors, and the time they spend outdoors can hardly be matched,” reflects Gardner.

Wilson’s work looks simple, fast and evocative, but careful planning is fundamental to his process. When arranging his still lifes, Wilson places elements that he finds to be “sympathetic to each other” in color, size and form. Next, he creates a strong, monochromatic outline on canvas, a signature of his final work.

A solo exhibition featuring water-themed regional landscapes in the colorful, gestural style of local artist, Andy Taylor. For more than forty years, Taylor has been drawing and painting scenery within a day’s drive of his studio in Carbondale, Colorado. As an avid rafter, Andy is inspired by the colors, shapes, weather and places where water changes the landscape. His loyal collectors enjoy hanging the easily identifiable landmarks found across the Colorado Plateau, with its spectacular canyons, high plains, distant mesas, winding rivers, sparse trees and sundry vegetation. The artist often revisits the same areas to paint, knowing the landscape has changed both in form and through his perception.

Balancing Acts in Bronze and Ink showcases the juxtaposition of styles and subjects and how both artists explore balance. Lisa Gordon works in three-dimensional bronze sculptures of horses whimsically balanced on objects, while Sherrie York creates detailed works on paper of the delicate birds balancing on branches and flowers she witnesses in nature. While the scale and power of their subjects are incredibly different, both artists play with the balance of these beautiful animals, and reminds us of the joys of life.

Peggy Judy’s style as a painter is reminiscent of her surroundings: sharp edges, dusty colors, strong negative space, and a snapshot of the Old West. She always wanted to be an artist. “That or a lion tamer,” she laughs. “It’s the same thing, really—you have to control them, but also let it go at the same time.” After having bred and raised horses for 35 years, Peggy and her husband said goodbye to the sport horses she trained on their farm, and shifted gears to appreciate the working horses of the ranching world—with her camera and paintbrush in hand.

“I was introduced to Amy Laugesen and Sean Wallis first as a collector, and then grew to know them through the gallery,” shares gallery owner, Ann Korologos. “Both artists have a deep appreciation for the past and a love for the West. Amy is captivated by the symbolism of horses. Her creations combine centuries-old Eastern clay sculpting techniques and forms with today’s state-of-the-art processes. The result: equine sculptures which appear to be both relics and minimalist abstractions. Sean is enamored by the windows into the past: old missions, formal botanical gardens, dilapidated barns which spring to life on his thickly-painted, boldly-colored canvases. We are pleased to share this collection of new works from both artists as a celebration of Spring.”
